Impact of the Equality Act on Women's Equality: reviewing the use and impact of equality mechanisms on women's equality in London.

This report reviews the current implementation and impact of the Equality Act 2010 and the Public Sector Equality Duty (PSED) on women's equality in London, and provides recommendations to both public bodies and the women's sector on how equality legislation could be used more effectively.

From the research findings it is evident that both local authorities and women's organisations would benefit from clearer guidelines around the Equality Act and the PSED.

It may be beneficial for both local authorities and VCS equalities organisations to form a closer working relationship, so that the Equality Act and Public Sector Equality Duty deliver real gains to those people who experience discrimination under the nine characteristics identified in the Act.
