The purpose of the event was to develop the provider market by:
- encourage the development of bidding partnerships
- outline current opportunities arising to bid for delivery of healthcare service
- provide an opportunity to learn about the policy context in which services are delivered
- provide an overview of the emerging commissioning landscape nationally, along with changes occurring within the justice system that may impact on how healthcare services are delivered
There were two elements to the day: the morning session consisted of a range of presentations by key NHS partners from organisations responsible for commissioning or supporting justice related health services including NHS England (London), Ministry of Justice (National Offender Management Service, Probation Service), Public Health England, Home Office, the Metropolitan Police Service, City of London Police Service, British Transport Police, South of England Procurement Services, Service user representatives and Voluntary and Community and Social Enterprises (VCSE) partners.
