What is an eco audit?
It is an opportunity to find out what your organisation is already doing and how your performance can be improved further. Eco-auditing is the process of assessing the current environmental performance of an organisation. It's a free service, it's ethical, it can help you reduce your energy bills and reduce your carbon footprint! The offer is open to voluntary & community sector organisations in London.
How to apply
What will CBT fund?
The Trust will cover the costs of an eco-audit, training or consultancy provided by our approved consultants. This is likely to take up to about five days' work, and will include:
- visiting your offices, and discussions with chief executive, staff and trustees
- review of your energy use, waste, travel patterns and purchasing practice
- review of policies and how decisions are made
- a report and action plan
- follow-up visit after a year
- report on the changes and savings achieved.
What will CBT ask you to do?
- to participate fully in the process, and to involve all your staff and board
- to consider how environmental behaviours relate to your core objectives, and how you will embed these into policy and practice.
- how you will help to spread any useful messages or changes among your stakeholders.
For more information visit the Cty Bridge Trust's Greening the Sector webpage. This page also contains the link to start your eco audit application.
