On the Radar

On the Radar is an an innovative database of public health services delivered by voluntary and community sector (VCS) organisations

Register your organisation or service on our new On the Radar (OTR) database!

Once you have registered and logged in, you will need to respond to a number of questions in the text boxes provided. This information will be moderated by LVSC before it is published, which may take up to two weeks.

One of the text boxes requires you to submit evidence of your impact and outcomes. If you haven't yet measured this, you can leave that section blank but for commissioners to understand and see the impact of your services it is really important to consider this. We have therefore produced a list of tools &guides that might help your orgamisation measure the outcomes, impact and social value of the services you deliver

More information about On the Radar

The project was set up by LVSC in October 2011. It contains in-depth information about voluntary and community sector (VCS) organisations that deliver public health services in London

The project will:

  • ensure VCS organisations raise the profile of their work and demonstrate their impact to a relevant audience of public health decision-makers, increasing opportunities for organisations to be commissioned in the future;
  • enable London's public health commissioners to identify gaps in services and new development opportunities for VCS organisations;
  • enable VCS organisations to use the database to research possible partner organisations in their area or if they want to know about a range of other public health services delivered by VCS organisations.

As On the Radar is still in its infancy, it mainly contains information about alcohol services. However, drugs, mental health, healthy eating, physical activity, housing, domestic violence and many others are all eligible and will gradually be added as the database expands.

The pilot stage of the project was carried out in partnership with London Drugs & Alcohol Network (LDAN) and Age UK London.

If you would like to find out more about On the Radar or find out if your organisation is eligible, please contact us

The On the Radar pilot project has been funded by the Department of Health  and NHS London
